December 2006

My friends made a low budget movie about smuggling mexicans across the border. It’s quite good. I had the splendid fortune of helping out with some acting. Observe:

Don’t be alarmed. That wall behind me is not made from real cow, I don’t think.  That is FAKE blood on my arm, so I guess I’m spoiling the part in the movie when my character gets fake blood on his arm. It’s not the ending to the “6th sense” or anything so chill.

I’m not ashamed to say that I wasn’t perfect:  [local /wp-content/uploads/2007/02/DaveBlooper2.mov]

If you were there, this would be the funniest picture of all time to you. I can’t explain why, but my friend Devin in a fake Border Patrol uniform was comedy defined. It was the hardest i’d laughed in the entire week I spent in Mexico / AZ. He looks totally convincing in the movie and even does some amazing improv work, but when the crew saw him step out of that van, we completely lost it.

At the end of a hard day of making movie magic, sometimes you just gotta shoot some hoop. This is Chaz “poster-izing” me. That is an 11 ft hoop. I think his amazing beard/hair/glasses/trucker hat combo gives him insane vert. All I could do was try to not get his in the nuts.
